La Chonta PDF Print E-mail

La Chonta is a shall shelter that has been guilt by the Los Carbones community, with no more than fourteen families and that has been structured in the vicinity of the park-ranger cabin called La Chonta.

The place is very small, it has one cabin with two rooms, one with a double bed, the other with four bunk beds, baths, a kitchen, a small thatched space in native style that serves as a dining area and there is space for camping. Likewise, the shelter offers tents with their respective mattresses for overnight camping.

La Chonta is an interesting entrance to the Amboró National Park, and from there one can go on a series of walks, either by the river or going into the park itself. The La Chonta community members have a dynamic and stable relationship with the Buenavista travel agents and have learned to suit their product to diverse requisites; this has resulted in constant visitors to the place, and the people in charge of the project have accumulated considerable experience. La Chonta is to be recommended above all for groups of young people who want to make study trips or share tropical community life experiences.
